GENBC keeps the false meme alive in SNL opening sketch.
Sketch featuring Rahm Emanuel at his exit press conference, telling Obama and incoming Chief of Staff Pete Rouse "good luck dealing with the new Republican majorities in Congress." *sigh*

1. The way they've been legislating, I think 20 would be considered a majority.
We gave them the 60 they demanded, and they haven't done shit.

Granted, we've got about 13 (D)-corporate that need to go, but damn!

4. "I can't believe he didn't buy a rolls royce. I mean, he has no money, but damn!"

Saying we have 60 Democrats is meaningless if you are talking about passing legislation that not all 60 would agree with. We never had 60 progressives; we never even had close to 60 progressives. Blaming the corporate Democrats might technically be accurate, but it is (usually) a red herring -- the question is WHY we can only hit 60 with centrist Democrats. In other words, why won't states like Nebraska and Louisiana elect progressives in a general election? Until that changes, you will just be spinning your wheels trying to find someone to blame.

5. I'm not "trying" to find someone to blame, I've got a list.
We've got 13 hard-core (D)-corporate in the senate and over 30 in the house.

3. Is he bailing? or was an alternative "found" for him?
Something high-profile so no once could say he was being fired. I think this is the no-drama way to get him out of the house.

6. If Daley hadn't bowed out, I think Rahm would have stayed.
I don't blame him for jumping at a chance at being the Mayor of Chicago.
