4. Mal, most of the US news media that I have seen has downplayed the

ONR. I saw NO mention of it at all till Thursday of Friday before the Rally, and there was NO coverage of it other than a few hours on MSNBC and sporadic coverage from CNN (CSPAN carried it as did FSTV). Even CSPAN's coverage did not show a crowd shot - they showed the stage and a few hundred people and some empty seats toward the end.
FWIWm REAL estimates of Beck's crowd was around 85,000.

ABC this morning has a good coverage of it - stating it was "Powerful" and that "10's of thousands" attended.

BUT they still are talking about the "Large Republican tide" coming in November. I think we will surprise them, though...

considering there was not financial backing from the Democratic Party or someone like the Koch brothers. Plus, no daily national forum like Glenn Beck's program to publicize.

I walked all the way around when Ed Schultz was beginning to speak. It was packed, especially the area around the WWII Memorial. You couldn't even walk through there, way too many people.

But the grassy area on the far right was never very full.

I saw a wide shot of the Dreck "rally" and the crowd went about half way up the tidal basin. There weren't too many of those shots and I still believe the 75,000 figure was more on target. Yesterday MSNBC took several shots that showed the crowd past the tidal basin all the way to the base of the Lincoln Memorial. Maybe someone will be able to get the two shots and put them side by side.
