NEW Fundie Conspiracy! The Earth is NOT moving!
There is Something about Space that THEY Don't Want You to Know:

The World is NOT Moving!!

The World (Earth and unattached atmosphere) is neither rotating around its own axis nor orbiting the Sun. In reality the Sun, Stars and Moon are going around the Stationary, Spherical World just as observed and just as the Bible says (Sun 24hrs... Moon 24hrs 50min 28sec... Stars 23hrs 56min 4sec... all east-to-west).

True, non-hypothetical Science (observational data, our senses, physical experiments, and logic)
contradicts the assertions of Mainstream Science's existing deceitful, fraud-ridden, unverifiable,

State-funded, "mathematical" (exists and works on paper and in imagination only) model of the universe

that is saturated with metaphysical nonsense and derived from the mystical

Zohar/Kabbala (sorcery/darkmagic/witchcraft) of the Pharisee RELIGION. Moreover, the intelligible

Christian Bible's voluntarily-funded Geocentric/Geostationary model of the universe proclaims:

The Sun's PATH creates and completes an orbit around the Motionless, Spherical Earth daily.

* The Sun and Moon "circle daily" East-to-West whilst set within and carried along a spiral North-South path;

Sun: about 6 months southbound then about 6 months northbound;

Moon: about 2 weeks southbound then about 2 weeks northbound.

The Stars are set within the inner surface of a ROTATING Celestial Sphere and "circle nightly" from East-to-West.

* Funded through coercion by Government Racketeering - i.e. violence-enforced taxation (theft) and Government violence-enforced currency monopolies (extortion).

They even have pictures to prove it.

1. Well, it all depends on your point of view. You can come up with
a very complicated description that involves every object in the universe traveling around the earth in various directions and speeds. Or, you can come up with a simple model that involves the earth and a number of nearby objects revolving around the sun.

4. I guess all those trips to the moon
and deep space probes were based on faulty calculations.

It is a wonder that they happened at all; or were they fiction as well?

The right wants to be right regardless of facts; the left wants to do the right thing based on facts.

15. If they ever took political power in the US, they would undoubtedly
kill people who did not believe that idiotic bullshit. I worked with a man who used to laugh a little when he heard anything about dinosaurs, geologic time, evolution, or most anything to do with science...he was a fundie, believed in the 6,000 year old Earth made in a week, exactly as it said in Genesis, and NO ONE could prove him wrong, because HE believed it. He was an ordained minister, had a congregation of maybe 40.
On the occassions he did not take his medication, he was raving, and insanely angry.

I found a YouTube of a computer simulation of a geocentric system. And boy, those things are doing loop-the-loops all over the place.

33. I can't even comprehend how fast the sun would have to go
to complete a full rotation around the earth every day.

Actually, let's do it.

The earth is 93 million miles away from the sun. That would be the radius of the circle the sun follows around the earth.
Circumference is 2*r*pi, or a full path of 584.34 million miles. A day is 24 hours, so the sun moves at 24.35 million miles per hour.

So, the sun is actually moving at over 24 million miles per hour, or 6700 miles per second. That's less than 4 seconds to drive around the entire fucking earth. Haley's Comet moves at a snail's pace of only 33 miles per second.

This, of course, makes way more sense than the crust of the earth rotating at 1037.5 miles per hour, or only .29 miles per second, and that's maximum, at the equator. Americans more closely "feel" under .2 miles per second.

So, for those of you that have wondered why we can't feel the earth moving so fast, just give up on logical reasoning and simple math and join a religion.

34. There are a few problems with this
though Relativity is not one of them (Check http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2010/09/14/geocentrism-seriously/">Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy site)

The laws of gravity and motion are serious problems and if you tried using the geocentric theory to navigate any further than the moon you are in deep doo-doo. Of course the measurement of parallax makes problems for this particular group of idiots as well; even primitive instruments can measure parallax out to 61 Cygni (about 11 ly) which means at least 14 stars are not on a fixed and unwavering upon the firmament.

35. Considering the implications as they apply to...
sports.

like....baseball!

The pitcher doesn't really throw the ball to the batter. He causes it to stay suspended in space and then the entire ball field moves, the batter is transported to the ball, and then the ball field moves back, so that the ball looks like it's flying out into center field, but it's not...the field is moving. The batter then pretends to run, but again, he's suspended in space and the baseball diamond is moving underneath him.

Our solar system and universe operate the same way.

Very simple...
