Thirty days from now, the votes will be coming in.
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 07:39 PM by kentuck

We will have an idea if the Democrats are going to hold the House and Senate. Surely, we will all be on the edge of our seats as the votes come in. Do they call Kentucky for Rand Paul or will it be too close to call? Will Connecticut go Democratic or Republican? Either of those states could be a bellweather.

Will Florida be too close to call with Crist and Rubio splitting the Republican vote and Meek doing much better with the Democratic turnout than imagined? Does O'Donnell lose in Delaware? That may mean the Democrats hold the Senate? Will the West Coast hold for the Democrats as some are now saying? The new Governor of CA will be Jerry Brown?

Will we breathe a sigh of relief as the votes from the Rocky Mountains come in and Democrats do much better than anyone expected? We have to ride this wild bronco for 29 more days...

3. Actually, there's something you can do besides sit around and
wait for the election to happen. You can contact your local Democratic congressional candidate and volunteer to help him or her get out the vote. That will benefit all Democratic candidates on the ballot in your district. That seems to me to be the answer to the tension of waiting for an election. If you're already doing that, then you have my gratitude and cheers.

4. That was the point of my post...
if you were not so quick to criticize. We've got 29 days left to work our asses off to make sure Democrats win the election. 29 days!

5. What is left unsaid is not heard. You left that part out of the OP.
I was not necessarily talking to you. I have no idea what you are doing. Your OP didn't provide that information, so I added it.

I was not criticizing you. I was encouraging everyone to do something.

6. Sorry for the misunderstanding..
We just need to keep it in perspective. 29 days is not very long.

8. No, it isn't long. Time's a'wasting. There's still time to get out
voters for our side. Every Democratic candidate is running a GOTV campaign right now. Every day counts. Every volunteer counts. Anyone helping could be the one who turns out the winning vote.

and just getting the Democratic word out in general.

I ask all of us here to take a few hours of your time to help your local candidate in any way you can.

Thanks,

Arctic Dave

9. Yup. That's what I'm doing for the next month, too,
for all the Democratic candidates in my precinct. There's still time to make a difference.

11. If the weather holds out, we're about a week away from walking the entire District.
Crossing fingers. No snow or rain.

10. Good reminder, Kentuck

In our area, there are various rallies and candidate forums planned, so say nothing of phone banks and the ever present need for funds.

Move it, move it, move this month..... :kick:

(The idea of a Sen. Paul is a great motivator!)
