Why are they bound and determined to vote against The Defense Bill?Do they turn their backs on their fellow troops this easily?

4. thanks
not a difficult concept, but hard to explain in number shorthand!

It isn't so surprising though, it seems most senators turn their backs on their constituents when they get the plum job.

5. it disappoints me that they will vote against the best interests of those they served with
and generations that followed. What does that say about them?

and,for the record none of my chickenhawks have served

Cornyn(on the Armed Services Committee),Hutchison(well,SHE's a girl,after all-they don't serve.Oh,wait-ask Tammy Duckworth),barton (he has "other priorities",Perry-well,what can I say?He has great hair)

A list of other members who served-and who didn't

6. Don't get too wrapped up in "votes".
Demagogueing how a sen or rep voted on a particular vote is wrong. Remember how John Kerry was attacked for his "I voted for it before I voted against it"?

Possibly a bill has flaws and the only way to fix those flaws is to vote the bill down and then fix it up before it comes up again.

Voting against a flawed defense bill does not mean that you don't support the troops.

Both sides delight in creating "landmines" in legislation for electoral advantage.
