Alan Grayson --- Gibbs is "Bozo the spokesman" and should be fired for doing a "miserable job" and failing to sell the President's achievements to the American people. Grayson said Democrats on Capitol Hill, not just Grayson, call Gibbs "Bozo the spokesman" ----

I am not ashamed to admit it. I do not understand the Democratic party. I am at a loss to understand a party that gave us D-Day, the landing of a man on the Moon, the social safety net, Social Security, Medicare, the Civil Rights Act, the New Deal that got us out of the Great Depression and everything else great that you can think of, the party founded by Thomas Jefferson himself, and yet which is so incredibly stupid when it comes to saving itself.

By contrast, consider this:

There have been 4 great stock market crashes in this country:

Panic of 1873.
Crash of 1929.
Crash of 1987.
Crash of 2008.

What do all these have in common?

THEY ALL HAPPENED UNDER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS.

ALL.

So it's settled. The Republicans are good for you!

They'll save you money and put a chicken in your pot and a car in your garage!

So elect Republicans.

And let's put Gibbs in as DNC head too!

there will be some childish DUer whose little eyes can't stand seeing "words" that "upset" them...

Or that might "offend" their tender sensibilities...

Or that might cause them to question their precious assumptions...

Hardly "reasonable" -- more like the "Ministry of Language"...

39. I think that honor should go to Mr Trippi
who managed to waste nearly $40 million in Iowa and NH in one month. Trippi, in his ridiculous book, however, blames Dean - his logic was that the campaign was great, but Dean himself imploded in late 2003/early 2004 and started to do ineffective things.

I know all about Gibbs being the spokesman for the interest group that put out the obnoxious ad that could easily be seen to favor Bush over Dean on protecting the US. The fact though is that it got very little play and not even that much coverage. I also assume that any Democrat remotely likely to vote for Dean was simply angered by it. (What this likely means is that Gibbs at that point was allied with Gephardt, who had Pouffle been Gephardt's deputy chief of staff (1997-1998) and a Gephardt campaign strategist. )

Neither that ad or the (non)scream were what stopped Dean. It was his battle to the (political) death with Gephardt and the strong campaigning of John Kerry.

44. On a break from the Kerry 04 campaign he did market the fastcut ad alternating Osama bin Laden and
Howard Dean, that was after the Iowa primary as I recall-it's one of his "perception management" achievements, Ken.

Robert Gibbs Spokesperson For Group Who SMEARED Howard Dean (8-12-10 TPM)
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/i/c/ickyma/2010/08/robert-gibbs-spokesperson-for.php

I'm on record here (through many years) of consistently stating a simple fact, a very unpopular fact among some DUers, that there are powerful opposition moles and operatives within the big tent of The Democratic Party.

It has to change.

he was unqualified for this job, so in order to get rid of him gracefully, he is promoted on to the next job for which he will be unqualified. Is he close to retirement? 29. I Doubt Very Seriously That Gibbs Goes to the DNC
He more than likely becomes a senior advisor to the President and Bill Burton, becomes Press Secretary.

Also look for Dan Pfeiffer, who is the Director of WH Communications, to take a more prominent role in speaking for the administration after the mid-terms...

I don't particularly like the laid back, but snarky style of Gibbs, but he has defended Obama more successfully than Grayson, making more solid points and getting "in trouble" less than Grayson.

38. Grayson is in trouble. He was doing great in the polls until he ran his "Taliban Dan" ad.

In one week he fell behind because the GOP demagogued the matter.

The ad said Grayson's opponent Dan Webster was hostile to women and that was true but in calling him a name and so forth the ad gave the goopers an opening to attack Grayson.

Grayson is losing and this country is going nuts.

As for Gibbs, when was the last time you or ANYBODY can remember anything memorable he said to defend our side?

40. OMG, if this becomes reality then Dems are screwed!
Gibbs is one of the worst spokesman I have ever seen. Honestly, how did this guy ever get the job in the first place? Was he childhood buddies with Obama or knew someone important or somethin'? On the other hand I guess he does do an excellent job, that is, an excellent job in making the President and the administration look bad!

Put this guy somewhere behind the scenes where no one will know he is there, and then studiously ignore any advice he may give. I mean, it is a good sign that the Obama people are finally recognizing that this Gibbs clown needs to go, but don't put him as head of the DNC! Instead, put someone who is actually competent there please.
