1. Everyone in that county is at fault.
The guy that didn't the fee probably voted for the same RepubliCON fuckers in the Mayors office and the County Commission to avoid having his taxes raised.

3. I doubt he voted for mayor.
Since he lives outside the city limits where this whole problem started.

2. The owner also accidentally started the fire, right? I'd say that puts the onus
pretty heavily on him. Of course, the county and its residents have mad poor decisions over the years - it's not a mystery that fire protection is important, and taxes are the way to do it. The city in this case got it right, after all...

The Nine Most Dangerous Words In The English Language Now Are

Thoughts On Politics

Ronald Reagan's famous saying was that the nine most dangerous words in the English language were: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Now we know that the privatization schemes and “Trickle Down Theory” of the Reagan gang haven't worked and have bankrupted and corrupted our country (reference David Stockman's "confession", et. al.).

So the new Reagan-related phrase that should be quoted is:
That the nine most dangerous words in the English language now are:
"I knew President Reagan and I'm here to help."

11. I'm sure the residents of the county *want* service...
They just don't want to pay for it..

Ultimately the voters put the county government in power.

13. Other:
The idiots in TN who have bought into this idea of not having those 'socialist' fire depts. I understand that those folks are in the same boat that I'm in, a part of the county who may be served by a volunteer fire dept. I pay my fees, but even if I didn't if my house was burning down I'd be takin' it out on the 'supposed' fire dept.

I pay county taxes, state taxes in many forms, except a state income tax...oh even if I didn't pay that annual fee, there would be hell to pay with anyone in my community who would stand around and watch my house burn down. The hell with'em, and they frequently come around my house asking for extra donations....please, get rid of them all and let DECENT people take over.

Yep, I stated DECENT people. And I've gone to bat for the volunteer fire dept. when the then capt. was giving them hell needlessly, I made a few enemies in the repug ranks around here. I wear it with pride.
