Why would somebody spend over 100 million of their own money
to be a governor?

Are the kickbacks that good?

1. If $100 million didn't make a dent in your ill-gotten gains...
probably more people would.

7. but it does make a dent, Wiki says she is worth 1.3 Billion
If I had 1.3Billion I wouldn't spend 10% of it on a political race...

14. I bet she gets to write some off...
If you had 1.3 billion, and still have 1.1 billion when all is said and done, think you'd notice?

25. Why not? I probably spent 10% of my net worth
and that's a bigger dent when you don't have a huge net worth. Is it better to spend $50 million and lose? Or $20 million and lose?

$100 million is so much money though. It almost seems like you could do this. Step 1 - buy your own newspaper for $20 million. Step 2 - buy your own TV station for $50 million. Then the rest of your advertising is free, and you might even make a profit from your new businesses.

Of course, I have not priced TV stations or newspapers lately. Can you really buy one for those prices?

so it's really just pennies to her.

6. Remember that same person paid her housekeeper $7 an hour
and she had problems getting paid for all of her hours.

She spends megabucks on glory for herself but try to pay as little as possible for honestly delivered services.

29. I dont think you can find a housekeeper for that price in california. Undocumented house cleaners in
LA get 12.00 an hour. much much more for large/fancy houses.

8. It has been reported that Meg Whitaman really wants to be president
Becoming Governor fill out her resume' and a stepping
stone to WH. At least that is the way she and some
Republicans view it.

Whitman is a part of a group in Republican Party who
are seen as the future leaders. Christie, Whitman, and
Mitch Daniels, Gov. Ind.(former GWB OMB Chief).
In fact Mitch Daniels maybe the GOP Dark Horse 2012.
You think Christie can cut and slash, just wait until
you experience the other two.

Watch as Jenny Granholm quits Michigan for Washington D.C. shortly after leaving her office, for example.

31. Thanks for beating me to this. Normal people can't help but to try to assign
normal values and ambitions to these abnormal people, That's why and how the parasites get away with their crimes.

For example, claiming that the difference between $1.3B and $1.1B is significant...

We've been warned time and again.

22. These Extremely Wealthy
Elites are beyond money....they want 'social control.' They want to be able to control the lives of people. Make them miserable...they get off on it.

Just look what Meg did to her housekeeper...wouldn't even give her gas money for her car when she ran errands for the family.

It's all about the power to control people's lives.
