A tale of two countries

Destroying and/or burning books. Non-stop propaganda directed at the masses. A government spying on its own citizens. A leader who can order assassinations. The belief by millions in the superiority of one specific race. The ongoing construction of weapons of war. The belief that your own nation’s destiny is to be the world’s leader. The deification of the military. Fear used as a potent political tactic. The inability of sane people to put a stop to it. The power to destroy the entire world.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Do I really need to name the two countries I’m talking about? (Hint: I’m not talking about ancient Rome, or the deceased USSR. Then again, China could well fit the definition of the two countries I'm referring to.)

I'm sick over what's wrong with the world and it's gone on far too long. I'd love to be King for a Day and turn this planet into a paradise for everyone.

Nonetheless, had I kept going with that list in the OP, I probably would have overloaded DUs computers.
