Christine O’Donnell Invokes Maddow, Olbermann To Scare Up Campaign Cash
3:37 pm EST October 5th, 2010\

Christine O’Donnell just sent the following e-mail out via Redstate.com (whose founder described her campaign as “amateur hour”, but I guess if the checks clear…):

We all knew that my opponent couldn’ t hide behind the failed policies of Obama, Pelosi and Reid forever. Even the liberal media led by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann can’t cover up the truth.

I’ ve been an hard-working citizen, who is only running so we can finally get the real change we need in Washington. My opponent has been a politician for years and is running away from his record. Since he has been in a leadership position on the New Castle County Council, spending has risen 33%.

Marc Rubio, Scott Brown, and now Christine O’Donnell have all based fundraising appeals around MSNBC hosts – but we’re supposed to believe that MSNBC’s progressives haven’t had any impact. Imagine.

The e-mail:

7. Bill Maher? Heck, I bet she doesn't debate, she's not making
any appearances anywhere, she's gone underground, yet still wants money. The stoopids out there will send it, too.

2010-Year of the missing candidate

By JONATHAN MARTIN | 10/5/10 4:34 AM EDT

With a month left until the midterm elections, there is something noticeably absent from some key statewide races: the candidates.

They’re ducking public events, refusing to publicize the ones they do hold and skipping debates and national TV interviews altogether – out of fear of a gotcha moment that will come back to haunt them.

It’s mostly, but not entirely, a Republican phenomenon.
In some cases, a tea-party-oriented candidate has made a plain calculation that a one-day, process story about an absence from the campaign trail or a refusal to debate is less damaging than the captured-on-tape gaffe the candidate could make when facing reporters.

11. CNN to broadcast Delaware Senate debate Oct. 13
Delaware Senate candidates Christine O'Donnell (R) and Chris Coons (D) have accepted an invitation to participate in a debate on October 13.

The 90-minute debate will be anchored by CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer and longtime Delaware public television anchor Nancy Karibjanian.

CNN will televise the debate, which will take place at the University of Delaware.

O'Donnell and Coons are running for the Delaware Senate seat previously held by Vice President Joe Biden.

12. Thanks. I didn't know that, but she still has time to pull out of this.
My money bets she does. Hopefully not; sounds entertaining.

14. What, no demand for FOX News to host the debate?
I guess O'Donnell realized that speaking strictly to a Republican base in a majority Democratic state wasn't going to cut it.

6. It Means They've Drawn Blood...
If these folks weren't a problem, she would ignore them or cast a spell on them (maybe she already has). O'Donnell has become a national punchline and every night there's more to expose at what I consider a very screwed up person and her large ego.

What I found amusing was someone here posting how Rachel shouldn't have gone looking for O'Donnell, as if that would help her campaign. It's like she's being picked on. Awwww. If the folks in Delaware can't determine how unqaulified she is and she wins, they deserve her.

10. 'cast a spell'
:spray:

I just worry about the media in this country that doesn't tell the truth (or a warped version thereof to promote their pov), and the bucketloads of $ other orgs. are pouring into her coffers. Coons seemed worried about that, too. I hope the intelligence of the people can trump the money that's being spent trying to snowball them.

18. This is and from now one will ALWAYS be the problem
the republican corporations OWN all the newspapers and TV stations. How can the truth get out to the public when we see every day how it is twisted to fit republican policies. Until congress does something about the lies they tell they will continue.

And the reason they push "liberal" media is to cover up their own actions. Most people in this country know the difference but those that protest the loudest again, do so because they know republicans own MSM>
