Anyone else seen ads from the "First Amendment Alliance"?
They're running one against Conway in Kentucky that has to do with....drugs. First Amendment? Eh?

From their website:

Thank you for visiting The First Amendment Alliance's website. Our organization was created to communicate to America. In particular, we communicate instances of waste, fraud, hypocrisy, and general disregard for standards of civility in society.

...and that's it. What that has to do with the First Amendment, I will never know. They have no other issue information up there.

According to Campaign Money.com, they received $50,000 from none other than Bob Perry, Mr. Swift Boat himself, in 2008. No information this year, but I would be shocked if he weren't forking over money to help out Rand Paul here in Kentucky.

Anyone know more about this shadowy shit organization? Since when does the First Amendment cover government spending?

1. I'm afraid our elections have been handed over to these groups
and their corporate money. There is little we can do except move to amend.

3. I would guess they say the Citizens United decision was the First Amendment issue

ie they are allowed to spend however much they want supporting or attacking any politician they want, and it's all covered by the First Amendment. Having named themselves after something in the constitution, they then proceed to swift boat any Democrat they want to, under the protection of the first amendment.

Spending: 100% Republican: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/campaign/2010/spending/First-Amendment-Alliance.html
