The Meek shall inherit the seat!
Or at least, that what he says. I certainly hope so but does he have a chance?

1. Looks like an excellent candidate
Why are all the Democrats backing the republican Crist?

3. Very impressive interview he gave with O'Donnell. Meek sounds like he was ready to fight.

6. Meek is a good man. I fear it is a losing battle.
Sink is barely keeping up with Rick Scott, which shows the teabagger mentality of so many here.

7. From what I've read in other threads...
Edited on Wed Oct-06-10 10:14 PM by Ozymanithrax
Democrats are scared shitless that Rubio will win, so they are splitting their vote and voting for Crist, who is probably going to lose to Rubio, and guarantee a Rubio in the Senate.

But this won't help with many here.

Emanuel to host D.C. fundraiser for Meek

That may be the kiss of death, because there are many on the left that seem to prefer a Republican than see the Rhamster have a success.

8. There is a good reason many are scared of Rubio.
Many good reasons.

10. That must be an individual decision.
And one does not have to say.

11. Crist is as much of a republican as Lieberman is a democrat.
I will do "whatever" it takes to remove a teabagger from the senate.

13. Crist has a record as a Republican...
Edited on Thu Oct-07-10 12:35 AM by Ozymanithrax
He is a self admitted Conservative.
He has refused to commit to caucusing with Democrats.
He only lost because Republicans have gone through a cannibalistic purity purge.

I don't think a Hyena changes its spots or its diet. If Crist should get elected, I will bet we wished he was as liberal as Lieberman. Once you get away from war and Israel, Lieberman has a good record as a liberal. Crist's record as a conservative puts him firmly with the Republicans.

If Democrats held together in Florida I think they could elect Meek. But as things stand, there will be enough frightened voters scared of Rubio to put Rubio in office.

And all this about keeping their vote secret. Anyone who votes for Crist should have the courage to say so. If they don't...

15. That is part of being in America. I don't have to tell you how I vote.
At least for now.

You have no right to demand that people tell you.

20. Exactly.
There's a reason why there is a curtain to give one privacy at the voting booth.

19. It is always so simple to dictate or make assuptions of others when...
they are not there to make the tough desicions. Imagine having to pick between a Latino-sell-out-teabagger, a corruption-tarnished-democrat and someone who changes his morals depending on the weather. This is not Gore-Bush 2000 when voting for Nader seemed like a luxury. This is trully the worse case scenario unless of course, someone shows me otherwise. I am open to suggestions.

I am glad we still have great progressives like Grayson.

12. Crist did things that made him the Antichrist in the eye of Republicans.
He couldn't go back even if he wanted to.

14. If Republicans get a majority with him, he will go back.
Power is everything.

Olympia Snow has done things Republicans don't like. They will not say no to her. Finally, his conservative history indicates that his voting record will be with the GOP.

I don't think he has a chance.
