Michelle Obama tops 'power' list.....
Edited on Wed Oct-06-10 10:23 PM by one_voice
Brace yourselves: The recently released Forbes “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list is a shocker. And fans of Sarah Palin may be the most surprised.

For starters: First Lady Michelle Obama took the number one spot. (Maybe not a huge surprise: She does live on Pennsylvania Avenue after all.) But Palin didn’t even break the top ten. The former governor came in at number 16 with the title “political maverick and commentator.”

Democratic politicians dominated the top of the charts, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton coming in at number 5, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi taking the number 11 spot and Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano coming in at number 13. Edged out of the top 15 (but still high up) were Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor (# 19), Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius (# 23) and Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan (# 25).

Other American politically-oriented women who made the cut were FDIC chair Sheila Bair (# 15 – one above Palin!), SEC chair Mary Schapiro (# 17), Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (# 31), Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Treasury Secretary Elizabeth Warren (# 37), California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman (# 47), California senatorial candidate Carly Fiorina (# 51) and first lady of California, Maria Shriver (# 53).

So who outranked these Hill power women? Many titans of industry and starlets of song and screen including Ellen DeGeneres, who came in at an impressive number 10 and the mistress of the meat dress, Lady Gaga, who pulled an even higher ranking with number 7. (Gaga wields more power than Palin? Was this list based on number of Twitter followers?) Madonna, the songstress with a penchant for male models named Jesus, came in at number 29 and Angelina Jolie ranked at number 21.

1. How the heck does Lady Gaga have more "power" than the presidents
of Finland and Ireland?? That's jacked up.
