Voters are complaining about a campaign mailing that includes an absentee voter application - filled in with the voters' personal information, Milwaukee's election chief said Tuesday.
The mailing came from the Republican Governors Association, which is trying to drum up votes for Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, the GOP candidate facing Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, a Democrat, in the gubernatorial race.
One part of the flier includes instructions for voting absentee, with an application to request an absentee ballot; the name of Sue Edman, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission; and the address of the commission's office.
Edman said the application is in the correct format, but voters think the flier appears as if it came from her office, which it did not. ..........(more)
