Which Party Dies?

Tony Blankley...but an interesting read.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tony-blankley/which-party-dies-2011s-un_b_755441.html

<snip>
The New York Times has written in explaining why the political parties have lost the confidence of the public: "Their machinery of intrigue, their shuffling evasions, the dodges, the chicanery and the deception of their leaders have excited universal disgust, and have created a general readiness in the public mind for any new organization that shall promise to shun their vices."

The New York Evening Post, in explaining the same condition has written that the people "saw parties without any difference contending for power, for the sake of power. They saw politics made a profession, and public plunder an employment. ... They beheld our public works the plaything of a rotten dynasty, enriching gamblers, and purchasing power at our expense."

The dates of those articles were November and December 1855 (See The Origins of the Republican Part by William E. Gienapp, Oxford University Press, 1987).

When those words were written, the Whigs and the Democrats were the two great parties. The Whigs soon went extinct, the dominant Democrats went on to lose every White House election between 1860 and 1912 except for the elections of Grover Cleveland. The Republicans came into being and won all the those elections the Democrats lost.

who use them to smash any real alternatives, while concealing the true nature of our dictatorship with their false 'professional wrestling' style opposition to each other

the ruling class could not care less about social issues - all non ruling class people are cattle to them. what cattle do amongst themselves is no consequence to them

for example, they couldnt care less if there are gays in the military or not, open or dont ask dont tell

they only care about the pentagon budget - so they split the issue between the two parties, and pop some popcorn while they watch them bicker and chuckle about nobody noticing that BOTH parties handed over the money

that's one of a million examples

6. i have felt for most of this decade now that everything gets figured out
in places like bohemian grove, bildegerg group etc, and countless other venues, and the scripts are fed to both parties that play them like a player piano

4. Only until...

people abandon all 'hope' in an electoral system completely owned by the ruling class. Our only power resides in the streets, the Greeks, French and Portuguese show the way....

7. The REAL Focus...
It's the battle within the GOTB between the big money establishment against their libertarian and fundie teabaggers. If the nuts win in November, the baggers are sure to become a fifth column...DeMint running the show in the Senate and Bachmann in the House. If they lose elections, then they'll make a convenient scapegoat. Either way the rift within the rushpublican party is deep...deeper than we see with the Democrats and could make the GOTB the new Whig party.

The worst thing for this country is the GOTB taking any power in November. But it'll be even worse for them.
