Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of CHARLES LEAF (DOB:1/14/1970) of 464 Louisa Ave., Wyckoff, New Jersey on Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child charges. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello and the Wyckoff Police Department, under the direction of Chief Benjamin Fox.
On October 7, 2010, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor=s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and the Wyckoff Police Department arrested CHARLES LEAF without incident after learning that he sexually abused a four year old female acquaintance at his residence in Wyckoff, N.J. CHARLES LEAF is currently employed by FOX 5 News, New York as an investigative and general assignment reporter.
CHARLES LEAF was charged with the following: one (1) count of Aggravated Sexual Assault-1st degree crime, one (1) count of Sexual Assault-2nd degree crime and one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child-2ND degree crime.
Bail was set by Judge Frances McGrogan, J.S.C. for CHARLES LEAF at $250,000.00 dollars-no 10% option, no contact with the victim and surrender Passport, after which, LEAF was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the Wyckoff Police Department for their assistance and cooperation in this investigation.
