Kendrick Meek (D-FL) all out support and appreciation thread (k it, please)
Edited on Fri Oct-08-10 03:16 PM by blondeatlast
Unrec if you must; doesn't matter to me. He's announced he plans to stay in the race (see this DU thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=9281530&mesg_id=9281530) and I fully support him doing so.

This is a Dem in a VERY tough battle who is campaigning with integrity and spine and telling it like it should be. Watch this GREAT ad (Only One):
https://donate.kendrickmeek.com/content/video/

If you think he should drop out, may I politely suggest you start your own thread. thank you?

I've sent funds his way and unequivocally support his campaign.

2. Gladly kicked and Rec'ed!
I've also contributed to his campaign, and will gladly vote for him in a few weeks.

If Rubio wins it's because of assholes like Crist and Rubio, and the assholes who vote for and support them (even backhanded support, which I've seen right here on DU!!!).

4. Kendrick Meek isn't going to win
Voting for Meek is like Progressives voting for Nader in 2000.

Crist isn't perfect but he is a vote to have Democrats control the Senate.

5. Why do you think he would caucus with Dems?
Republicans will kiss his ass to get him back.

9. He will Caucus with the Democrats because the Republicans practically
kicked him out of the party, and Charlie Crist isn't someone that wants to be associated with Rand Paul, Sharon Angle, Ken Buck and Joe Miller.

29. The fact you don't have 100% assurance he will support the Democrats isn't a good reason
to hand the Republicans that seat on a silver platter.

Edited on Fri Oct-08-10 03:34 PM by Tony_FLADEM
What is Charlie Crist going to gain being in a party that is becoming more ideological everyday and does not respect him?

If the Republicans gain a majority he might caucus with them, but it wouldn't matter anyway. Democrats need to keep the majority

27. It's called taking a chance
The odds are better than 50% he would have caucused with the Democrats.

The fact that you don't have 100% assurance he is a Democrat isn't a good reason to give that seat to a Republican.

Even though Crist could have switched parties, could publicly swear he'll caucus with the Democrats--or could just be a Liebermanrsque opportunist.

Hmm... whatever shall I believe?

Those who turn their backs to Meek and vote for Crist are in fact frequent Democratic voters, I guess, but Democrats vote for Democrats, like dancers dance. The definition is in the vote. Democrats vote for Democrats, not Recent Republican Rejects.
