I have a dental appliance, a partial that replaces the teeth I lost to an assailant's fist many years ago. The assault ended when one of those teeth embedded itself between the bones of my attacker's hand and he climbed off me and ran off. The police refused to even look for him, insisting that I "must have done something to entice him."

I think you can imagine how I reacted to Ken Buck's referring to a rape charge as "buyer's remorse."

That monster should NEVER be allowed to have a job in public service. He is incapable of serving at least half of the pubic with any level of empathy, respect, or support. :grr:

I am so very sorry that the police gave you that same brush-off. :(

So many people I have known over the years who have survived rapes and sexual assaults, especially back when I was doing volunteer work with survivors, several that I knew of had gone to the police. Not one was taken seriously. NOT ONE. :(

I hope you have had help and support, and safe life since thing. :hug:

And I wish so much that we had police who helped instead of being part of the problem.

OTOH, I hope the one that got left in the assailant made him get horribly infected and I hope he lost his di....er hand to the infection. While I am 98% a dyed in the wool bleeding heart liberal, there are certain places where I lack the usual "Democratic" forgiveness gene. Michael Vick is another example. I think he should be put down. Humanely, of course, but put out of our misery nonetheless. Rape, people who hurt children and those who abuse animals are people for whom I can't seem to find any of that down home Democratic compassion.

I'm astounded that this man is a contender for the Senate. This year's midterms are full of mean, awful, batshit crazy candidates. How did all of these people know to crawl out from under their rocks in the same year? Is there a secret whistle only the degenerate can hear?

Not only do I hope he loses his Senate race, but I hope she sues the sh*t out of him, takes him to the cleaners, and that there are legal grounds for this bastard to end up in jail somehow.
