Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln said Monday she may propose extending the Bush-era tax cuts to wealthier Americans, as well as the middle-class tax cuts that President Barack Obama and Democratic leaders in Washington want to maintain.

Lincoln, who last week said she may support including those who make as much as $1 million a year in the cuts, said she's researching to see if a compromise is possible on the cuts. Lincoln, a Democrat, is considered one of the most vulnerable incumbents in Washington seeking re-election.

Lincoln sits on the Senate Finance Committee.

"As a part of that tax-writing committee, I think I have a responsibility along with other members of that committee to figure out whether we can find some sort of compromise of what is the best way to meet our objective of strengthening the economy and bringing down our debt and putting people back to work," Lincoln told The Associated Press in an interview.

2. So does Robin Carnahan
I think we need a Truth In Taxation organization to start fighting the day after the election. I don't think it's realistic to expect candidates to throw the election away fighting a lie all by themselves.

9. She will have a job until January, and can do harm with her lame-duck vote
Many lame ducks find their consciences once they are voted out, and do great things with their remaining time...others get vindictive and use those votes to punish..

wonder which way ole Blanchie will go

6. So? Who cares?
She's going to be out of work in a few months anyway, so why should I give a damn what she says?

8. Strengthen economy, bring down debt, put people back to work
Sounds like a recipe for raising taxes on the wealthiest folks to me. After all, they've had a free (or at least a reduced-fare) ride during all the time that we've spent a trillion treasury dollars and killed and died in Iraq and Afghanistan for the purpose of lining their overstuffed pockets.

We want to pay for stuff, put people to work and get the economy going? Look where the money is, and put it to work for America, rather than watch it flee overseas in search of an extra 0.1% return.

12. The sad thing is, she WILL have a job in January
....probably with Goldman Sachs or Wal-Mart or some equally disgusting bullshit corporate group of economic rapists where her efforts to help the rich get richer will be rewarded.
