Biden: "I Challenge The Chamber Of Commerce" --- SHOW US THE $$$
Edited on Mon Oct-11-10 05:15 PM by kpete
"Karl Rove has his stable of billionaires, literally, and millionaires pouring tens of millions of dollars into close races," Biden said at a fundraiser in Pennsylvania for Rep. Chris Carney (D), according to a pool report. "The Chamber of Commerce — does it surprise you that insurance companies are against us after we prevented them from taking advantage of the people they're supposed to take care of?"

The vice president's jabs toward the Chamber and Rove, and, by extension, the group American Crossroads, with which Rove is affiliated, signaled the White House has no intention of backing off it its attacks.

.......................

Biden renewed calls for the Chamber and other groups to disclose the source of their funding to prove they're not accepting foreign donations.

"I challenge the Chamber of Commerce to tell us how much of the money they're investing is from foreign sources," Biden said. "If I'm wrong I will stand corrected. But show me."

1. For once, it looks like we aren't wussing out
I can't tell you how many times I've read articles where some Dem made a bold statement and got us all excited.

Then the republicans and the liberal media got all indignant and the Dem apologized.

And we were all disappointed once again.

But not this time. It appears that the entire White House and a lot of the party organization have chimed in on this point.

Have they finally grown a spine? Are they listening to "the base" for once?

10. Even more importantly (to me anyway)
The president is too damn smart to persue this if it's not true. This is WAY more than a political move, this is a serious fight to preserve the integrity of our nation.

2. Time to force turdboy's shit-stained hand
Turdboy can only be successful if he lies, cheats, and steals while hiding in the shadows.

It may not be pretty -- but turn the spotlight on that cesspool, and let's have us a behind-the-scenes look at KKKarl's little "crossroads" operation.

Why is is Republicon entities like the C of C are soooo into OCCULTISM?

4. He sounds like Norman Goldman today...The Republican rant
when we found out Bush was reading our e-mails and listening toour phone calls: "If you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't worry! Why do you hate America?"

Throw it right back at these hypocrites: If you are not funnelling monies from foreign corporations for poictical advertising, show us the proof. If you have nothing to hide, you have NOTHING to worry about!

12. Noooo, Ezra Klein sez it's tooooo complicated
Okay, everyone knows that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gets its funding from businesses, both domestic and foreign. And all that money goes into the same general operating account, commingling foreign contributions with domestic ones. And the Chamber of Commerce pays for ads and makes political donations out of that account, so foreign money could very well be used to be making political expenditures. And foreign money is strictly prohibited from such a use.

But Ezra Klein says that it's just too complicated for the public to understand this convoluted, tortuous explanation. And besides, we have the solemn word of some lackey for the Chamber of Commerce that nothing of the sort is happening, and if you can't believe the unsupported denial of the accused, well, you're just a bunch of cynics, that's all.

Now, let's get back to the real issues of the campaign: How Nancy Pelosi is secretly controlling every member of Congress (Senators, too) and how electing some neophyte Republican in an obscure district will put a screeching stop to that tout de suite. That's pretty straightforward, that is.
