My family and I are formerly of Vail AZ and now live in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, Peoples Republic of China. Why are we here? To find jobs. This recession has cost two of us our jobs - we are all professionals - two teachers and an accountant. So... while the USA complains about unskilled Mexicans jumping over or burrowing under a fence to get into the USA to find employment, maybe the USA should be more concerned with the growing list of professionals who can no longer find employment in the USA and are looking overseas.
Maybe the cartoon could show a fence with the USA on one side with people coming over and under the fence saying "Maybe we can find work picking crops in America" while white collar Americans are slipping over the same fence in the opposite direction to Asia saying "We couldn't find work in the USA, but we found it here"
I am watching a growing number of younger Americans leaving the Land of Prosperity for Lands of More Opportunity. What will this leave our country in 10 - 15 years? Getting a job overseas is easy and the plane ticket is refundable. Paid housing, insurance, lower cost of living and more opportunities to showcase skills.
Will the last one out please turn off the lights?
