HENNAC selects Chrysler's Fred Diaz for 2010 Chairman's Award

HENNAC, America’s leading organization promoting scientific education and careers among Hispanics, has selected Fred Diaz, President and CEO, Ram Truck Brand, and Chrysler Group’s Lead Executive for U.S. Sales, as the recipient of its 2010 Chairman’s Award.

The Chairman’s Award is among the most prestigious honors given out by the HENAAC/Great Minds in STEM (Science, Technology, engineering and Mathematics) organization. The group works to promote STEM educational awareness programs for students — kindergarten to career — on a national level, with particular focus on students in underserved communities. The group also recognizes the achievements of America’s best and brightest engineers and scientists within the Hispanic community.

Diaz, who hails from San Antonio, Texas, is the first Chrysler employee
to receive this honor. He accepted the award during the group’s Career Conference and Awards event held October 8 in Orlando, Florida.

With Fred Diaz, Ralph Gilles and Linda Soave as division managers, Chrysler is an industry leader in diversity. I think some of Chrysler's recent success comes from this diversity. (Yeah, they passed Honda last month and gained marketshare from Toyota, while having an avalanche of new products a few months away)
