Wait, why are THEY angry? Really?
Get yourself some mountain climbing equipment and attach yourself to the ground with a few pitons. The world is officially turning upside down.

Get this, Republicans are angry. That's right. Unbelievable as that is, it's true. The people that brought us George W. Bush, an unnecessary war in Iraq, and the worst recession since 1929 are angry. The people that blocked any and all legislation aimed at restoring America's economic health are angry.

Really?

I'm not Republican, but I'm angry too. At Republicans. I'm very angry about their panicky, ruinous rush into the Iraq War. I'm very angry that they let corporations of every stripe loot the country. I'm very angry that they turned the EPA into a polluter advocacy society. Actually, I'm even a little angry that people who voted for Bush and his Republicans are even allowed to vote in this election, but that's the Constitution, so what are you going to do? They have the legal right to vote if not the moral right.

If anyone should be angry, it's liberals and independents, and they should be angry at the Republicans. Republicans should be hanging their heads in shame and sitting out a few elections until they figure out where they went so wrong.

1. they've got the moral development of a petulant 5-year old
with all respect due to petulant 5-year olds, most of whom will grow out of it and are adorably cute in the process.

most republicans are self-absorbed people who can't see or don't care about the implications of policy beyond their immediate finances. they got a taste of solidly republican control with solidly republican policies and brainwashing and they liked it and then they got IT TAKEN AWAY!!! WAHHHH!!! GIMME BACK MY NICE WHITE HOUSE!!! I WANT WHITE HOUSE!!!! I WANT MY CONGRESS BACK!!!

WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

belief, the Tea Party people are not ignorant "white trash". ( I hate that term, but I don't know any other to describe this supposed demographic.)

Rather, the average member of the Tea Party is a fairly well off white person, often times retired. They don't want to change Wall Street with regulations because often times they are sitting pretty living off investments. They don't want deficits because deficits mean inflation.

They don't want to change anything precisely because they are sitting pretty. Of course they are angry at Obama; they view any change as a threat.

6. I made this claim, and said TPers were small business and retired, and was
almost ran out on a rail. Much hate by small business owners here. And generally was hated for not thinking TPers as only ripe for hick jokes.

3. But Republicans see themselves as perennial victims/underdogs
Edited on Tue Oct-12-10 10:54 AM by mreilly
Take a look at the Tea Party assholes; their slogan really ought to be "It's all about me. 24x7x365. Me, me ME. ME!" Truly, if the issues don't involve pampering and petting the Republicans, they're being victimized. They have the mindset of any average elementary school spoiled brat.

When they're told they have to pay some measure of taxes to support the society they live in and benefit from, they're being picked on and "bled dry." It's so unfair! Let's just do away with the government. But I want my SS/Medicare/unemployment/anything else they enjoy thanks to tax dollars, dammit!

When they're informed that they can't force their religion on others and that the Constitution isn't on their side, it's time for a tirade against un-American leftists and "judicial activism" plus a healthy dose of historical revisionism to pretend this is a Christian nation and all non-Christians NEED TO LEAVE. All that stuff about America being the land of the free, and a melting pot, and an inclusive society, etc. etc. only applies to people like them. Fuck everyone else.

When these freedom lovers are told that laws they want passed have failed and the majority doesn't support them, it's time for a hysterical diatribe about how they're being targeted/controlled/terrorized, and time to grab guns and race over to a town hall meeting to behave ominously and send the message that if they can't get their way through fair means, they have no problem with foul measures. All the while screaming and howling endlessly that is the liberals who are the bullies and the tormentors, of course.

When those awful liberals want to implement recycling, not offend other countries, try to help poor Americans, or do anything generally benevolent or good-neighborly, well, "I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK" apparently because the goal for the right wingers is to behave like the biggest assholes on the block.

In short, like any juvenile incapable of seeing other views or perspectives, the Republicans are angry if they don't get their way 100% of the time on everything and aren't allowed to hound, harass, stalk and bully the opposition into meekly evacuating this country. Back in the Bush days when they were getting their way 90-95% of the time, they were still screeching about the unfairness of it all and how horrible those liberals were, to actually try to make a positive difference.

I swear if I believed in Satan I would be convinced he's a Republican and running that despicable party.

4. K & R.
They're angry about the debt - which THEIR politicians rang up.

They're angry about "SOSHALISM" - when all evidence from the past 20 years points to an UPward, not downward, transfer of wealth.

They're angry about jobs - while their party and it's Reagan Redux economic policies led to zero job creation in 10 years.

They're also angry about the tax cuts expiring - when it was Republicans who baked in that expiration.

They're wealth apologists - completely denying the screwing they've been getting from them for the past 30 years.
