Maybe it's just because I'm in Canada, but everybody close to my age that I show Paladino's positions and his scandals to think that the guy is batshit crazy. I can't imagine anybody in this demographic being impressed by KKKarl.

2. I know many Canadians, and they have always seemed more sensible than Americans.
And, yes, it is a generalization, based on anecdotal personal evidence. Call me pisher.

4. 1 in 3 ain't gonna get him there
Don't think New Yorkers have much to worry about from him. Actually his antics have been a boon for Democrats -- it's the best of both worlds, a candidate that has no shot at actual power but gets negative headlines for the Republicans and the Tea Party.

FYI, if you check up on the history of the KKK (particularly its early 20th century incarnation) you'll note the irony of associating it with the Catholic son of Italian immigrants.

6. I'm well aware...
His being an Italian Catholic hasn't stopped him from acting like a Klansman.

11. Really? How?
Are you sure about that? Is he out in the streets protesting against Catholics, Jews, and immigrants? Stringing up African Americans? Burning crosses? Do you have some concrete examples or do you just like using those three letters to lend weight to your point? Paladino is a right wing kook with some out-there policy ideas and an exceedingly brusque style -- but that doesn't necessary make him a klansman, or a Nazi, or a fascist, or any other historical bogeyman. It just makes him what he is -- a nutty guy named Carl. Isn't that enough for you?

7. Memo to Carl:
Dude. In an election, you want to say things and do things that might prompt people to vote for you. If you do things and say things that repel them and offend their elemental sense of fairness and decency, they might, you know, NOT vote for you.

8. I don't have to see any poll to know this is simply not true
I bet 3 out of 4 NY voters between those ages thinks Carl Paladino is as creepy as they come. They probably shudder at the sight of him because he reminds them of their childhood nightmares. The man looks like a bad dream, much less sounds like one.

9. 14% of Americans think President Obama may be the anti-Christ
Up that to nearly 25% of Republicans surveyed.

So, what's your point again?

Seems to me the overall answer to all of these polls is that there are a shitload of idiots in the world today (regardless of age). ;)
