From June, 2010

A little perspective for those of you thinking the judge's order on DADT is the end of the story and "of course" Obama will comply.

1. I believe I will wait and see what President Obama does.
That seems like a pretty good idea to me.

3. No
We have to fly off the handle and call him a RINO pre-emptively, just like before he vetoed that mortgage foreclosure measure.

Why wait for facts and definitive action before trashing him?

8. His past record speaks volumes and is a good indicator of what he
probably will do.

10. So, you outright dismiss the OP, despite the administration's
record on the issue?

7. No, no, you're right, of course,...don't read anything, blindly accept things you HOPE
he does as opposed to things he HAS done...VERIFIABLY has done.

5. Only problem with one of your examples is that he didn't defy it
From your Politico article on wanting to keep the deep drilling ban:

"On Wednesday evening, the government appealed Feldman's order and formally asked him to stay the order pending that appeal. The government also said that the motion to enforce the court's order was "unwarranted and should be denied," but that officials would abide by the order until it was stayed or reversed. 'Of course, until a further order of this Court or the Court of Appeals granting relief from this Court’s Preliminary Injunction Order, Defendants will comply with the Court’s Order,' a government brief said"

9. This is such a pantload. The DOJ's function is to defend the law of the land.
Until the law is changed, I would expect the DOJ to defend the current law. What's so hard about that?

14. +1
The drama over this issue reveals a lack of understanding of the legal system. And I wonder why not have it tested as high in the courts as possible? Interesting the willingness to wait in this instance.

12. Based on his history and personal feelings on homosexuality, he will appeal.
I hope to be surprised.

13. Obama has never defied any court order. Appealing is a legal process.
Defying is rejecting the legal process.
