1. no thanks
I need to work on the 2nd..
besides, in NYS, we only have 1 real party.
the GOP just gets to decide who will lose to Cuomo, Kristen, and Chucky..

3. I ate lunch, played some music, did some reading, showered, pooped, and talked to people.
Oh, and I went shopping for some cold medicine. And I ate a candy bar.

Plus breakfast.

That's about all i can remember doing today.

5. Since I didn't have much time to work to GOTV this year...
I decided to volunteer to table at the precinct on Nov 2nd.
Maybe I can make a difference that way.

6. I have done that a couple times.
Take food and water with you and be prepared to sit for hours. And make sure you are sitting where you can hear important discussions with voters while keeping an eye on the voting booths.

8. there's a bit of scuttlebut about a right-leaning
County Clerk, so I'm a little worried about the atmosphere that may cause. I'm hoping all will go smoothly.

11. everything said MUST be non political
it is illegal to discuss anything like that at all. I think it comes under electioneering. So, unless the people are just jerks, you should be fine.

10. I've been working the last 6 weeks filling Democratic slots for pollworkers.
We have filled all but 43 out of 406 slots at this time.

13. Is that all?!
Just kidding but been there, done that. We always have a surplus around here anyway. I plan on doing more direct get out the vote stuff.
Came up empty on driving vans, already full. (So much for uninspired Dem base!)
But will work putting up some signs and doing some live person phone bank calls the week of.

14. They won't let me do it part-time but today I made 110 phonecalls to get those early ballots
returned.

Hope everyone is doing something other than posting on DU.

15. I was a Poll Watcher once.
In my very very liberal town, I think the one lone conservanut showed up and literally backed me into a dark corner. It took two men to get him off me.

I will never do that again. Ever.

Now, I drive people to the polls and volunteer to stuff envelopes. My days of being a punching bag for RW crazies are over.
