¿Como se dice en español "Rev. Wright"?
Edited on Tue Oct-12-10 05:47 PM by KamaAina
Meet the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, the latest in a long string of high-profile endorsements for NutMeg Whitman. :sarcasm:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=74406&tsp=1

Meg Whitman's peeps are touting the endorsement of the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, an evangelical pastor from Sacramento. Oh, did we mention he is Latino? (18 percent of the electorate alert!) Well, the Whitman campaign sure did: It used the word "Latino" six times and "Hispanic" five times in its five-paragraph press release....

And Californians will remember that Rev. Rodriguez was key to organizing Latino voters for Proposition 8, which banned same sex marriage in California. The Rev can work up a good stew while preaching -- and some provocative, if indecipherable metaphors. Here's a clip of him in action:...

"We have radical Muslims. Radical homosexuals. Radical abortionists. We need radical, born again, spirit filled Christians to arise. Do you follow me? We don't need any sissy Christians, Oprah Winfrey Christians. We need prophetic, devil stomping, demon rebuking, blood washed, Bible believing, free-from-sin Christians."...

And we're still trying to figure out what an "Oprah Winfrey Christian" is. Would that be one who gives everyone in the congregation a new car after the service?

This oughta be good...

1. You want the inverted question mark character. Here's it for your cut'n'paste benefit:

3. Here's the tilded N.
You may want to re-paste the inverted question mark.

8. For future reference, All Programs -> Accessories -> System tools -> Character Map is your friend.
Linux also has a Character Map app. Don't know about Mac.

5. Que te parece "Padre Dereche"
Or something like that.

Anyway, as we all know, it was perfectly acceptable to stove-pipe every last utterance Rev. Wright ever made onto the candidate Obama. That's the way politics is, even if Rev. Wright thundered "God damn America!" because of its shameful past of slavery and institutionalized racism. And no, you're not supposed to wonder if God should bless America for that, or why it wasn't ever mentioned as part and parcel of Rev. Wright's remarks that day, just to lend it some context. Just forget about it.

But just because Rev. Rodriguez has endorsed Ms. Whitman, and Ms. Whitman is touting that endorsement to establish her Latino community bona fides, it's totally out of bounds to graft anything Mr. Rodriguez has done or said, no matter how recently, onto Ms. Whitman. Unfair! I say. Unfair. And fie on anyone who does so.

7. Similar to the way they pander to darker skinned Britannics,
like Rev. Wright. That is, when they're not demonizing them...
