The GOP says cut spending.
Ask them on what. Make them specify what programmes will go. Make them specify who will pay. Whose jobs will go? What programmes will go?

They should be forced to defend their talking point that they all so glibly come out with but have no desire to describe what it means.

5. They say something stupid every day.
Few call them on it though.

Many European Countries have moved to the right recently (although the new GOP would still consider them socialist). Those governments are all introducing fiscal tightening or so called "austerity measures". The public love the "idea" of cutting waste. People do not however like what they get cut.

In the UK all of the Parties in the election were proposing cuts. However none would say what would be cut. So people picked blindly. Now cuts are coming in, people are getting angry. In France there are strikes.

2. Typically, it's everything except military spending/war spending.
If Democrats weren't so conflicted about how to proceed, they could easily throw it back in their face with a challenge: If you support the war so goddamn much, then you would support a war tax on the wealthy to pay for the war. Every other war in American history was supported with increases in taxes to pay for the venture.

7. They are given prepared talking points
and they are absolutely terrified of moving away from those. You would think that the Californian Queens of outsourcing would have a reply, but no. Even they will not say.

Constitution
Stop spending
Balanced budget
Tax cuts

Deviation from those talking points gets them in trouble (see New York or De Mintoes). In depth analysis of those talking points is just not allowed.

4. Some of them have been asked. They were all unable or unwilling to answer.
