1. Nice building.
I think I'd prefer it as maybe a triangle.

6. It's a horrible building. The dust is toxic.
One morning I wandered around for four hours trying to find the right concourse to get to the office I needed.

It was built too fast, with too little planning, and was already obsolete (and, ironically, too small) by the time it was finished.

7. Really Defense Spending is one area where what we spend is WAY OUTSIDE
What anybody else spends. I don't see it really makes us any more secure than any other place. Maybe less.

16. The Defense contractors deliver...
...our innovations keep leapfrogging the rest of the world. Then again the question arises, is it worth it? Our casualties run about 10% of previous wars, but I see the same "mission creep" that dragged us down in Vietnam. We went to Afghanistan to capture or kill Osama, we should have done that and left Afghanistan to the Afghanis.

The R&D is expensive enough, implementing it is horrendously expensive. The small aqmount of surplus equipment available to the general public is usually just off the shelf commercial equipment. The exotic stuff gets destroyed and recycled.

I've seen helicopters and fighter jets in private hands, but those are usually bought up by the rich, who are selling better stuff to the military. They are so well connected in the trade, all they have to do is ask and then write the check.

Some of the really cool stuff gets commercialized, lithium batteries for example, and I've read about new processes with composites and metal foam that I hope can be commercialized.

I watch the technology and strategies for it's use, as a personal interest. Not so much weapons (you don't have to watch for them, they're everywhere), but logistics, where there is the potential to actually make life better.

8. Turn in into low income apartments.
Or maybe high security prison for republican criminals. Nobody would be tossing anything to the prisoners in that court yard.

11. close bases
How about we save defense money by closing all overseas bases, use those troops to guard our borders, and tell the rest of the world to take care of itself

12. Do you really need FIVE-sided buildings?
Why not cut it down to FOUR sides? I've heard that four walls will do in a pinch.

Just a suggestion.

15. The Seattle Times had a piece about...
a new Navy drone boat being tested in Puget Sound. You should have seen the dumbshit comments on the story.

Freedom isn't Free... etc.
