Todays event: Lunch with Michelle and Russ
Todays luncheon in Milwaukee with Russ Feingold and Michelle Obama was totally awesome!!!!

Five hundred plus people turned out on short notice to support Russ's candidacy. Everyone there was upbeat and excited (and polite and friendly). Mrs. Scuba and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Rep Gwen Moore (D-Wis) opened the event by singing "I'm So Excited" as a way of welcoming everyone. After a nice lunch (roast beef sammies, salad and chocolate pie) Russ spoke. He rocks, politely dinging his opponent and reminding us that he was named "lobbyists #1 enemy" by Washingtonian Magazine. That alone speaks volumes and brought the crowd to their feet.

His biggest round of applause (with a standing "O" of course) was in response to his mentioning the passing of health care reform!!! Russ's running ON this, not FROM it and the audience loved it!!!!!! Democrats everywhere should take notice.

According to Russ, he has now pulled slightly ahead of Johnson in the polls! But keep working folks; the only poll that matters is November 2nd.

But we were just getting started. Then Russ introduced the featured speaker, Michelle Obama! Thundrous applause, everyone on their feet! I had goose bumps.

Michelle spent about 20 minutes "stumping" for Russ. She started by mentioning that Russ doesn't always agree with the President so she and Russ have that in common. Great line, brought down the house. She then went on to extol Russ's many virtues and praise him for his work. She was brilliant, not just beautiful. Probably 10 standing ovations, 50 rounds of applause and 500 plus excited volunteers/Democrats.

She reminded us to keep working in EVERY election, including this one. Good advice.

I did take pics and will attempt to get some on a post (my camera is new and I've never even downloaded pics to my PC yet, so please forgive me if I can't pull that off shortly). Trust me that this was not a homogenous crowd. This event pulled in people from all walks of life, all colors represented, some in wheelchairs, some deaf (there was a translator "signing" for those folks).

Let's see Johnson do that!!!!! His "whitebread" crowds can't compare.

Thanks to all for your support. Please help keep Russ in the Senate. He is the best we've got (in my humble opinion).

5. Looking forward to the pictures
I've met Russ at listening sessions and was honored to see him and Obama at the Labor Day rally just before the 2008 election. My dad even got a terrorist fist jab from Obama.

Russ is my political "Elvis". My heart will break to PIECES if he doesn't win.

4. Got an email from Obama and he wants a 3 dollar donation
for the campaign. Those that donate could win a trip to be with him at a campaign stop. Did anybody get this email.
