The internet was all abuzz earlier this month about a video satire that mashed-up Donald Duck cartoon clips and Glenn Beck quotes. But Beck himself saw something much more sinister lurking in the video, first posted on Rebellious Pixels blog. "If I'm not mistaken," Beck said, "some of these remix videos, it's very interesting, I believe, get federal funding."

In a little noticed comment on his October 3 show, Beck called the video some of the "best, well-made propaganda I have ever seen."

"We'll find out if it's been federally funded," Beck said, "you know, as part of the stimulus package."

2. This is a fine example of why I'm a little uncomfortable mocking Glenn Beck

I believe he has a mental illness - bipolar or schizophrenia and I have friends with such issues. If I could be sure he was just a huckster, I would mock him to the ends of the earth. But stuff like this and the way he uses that chalkboard of his really makes me think of the movie A Beautiful Mind (no, I'm not saying Beck's mind is beautiful - far from it. But I'm not sure it's fully in his control, either).

Certainly we need to get him out of the sphere of influence because there are people out there who really believe his ranting. It just makes me a little sick to my stomach to see him lose his mind while on TV. It's creepy and sad.

3. Decades ago, Disney was accused of carrying Right-wing messages.

The accusations go back to the Isolationist, anti-war, anti-"John Bull" British themes in Pinochio. During the 1970s, the international Left spent a lot of time deconstructing a number of Disney characters, including Donald Duck, and found it was full of pro-Capitalist themes.

Maybe Glenn is having a flashback?

4. Have you listened to Beck lately?

It is highly, highly entertaining. He's slid past partisan nonsense, and right
into totally batshit insane. Seriously...it's like watching a man slip into
a major, freakout breakdown.

He's completely coming unglued.

Apparently, he is not feeling well. He's got some health problems. He has been
very obtuse about what is going on, but he seems to be suggesting that Progressives
are making him sick. Seriously.

Yesterday, he droned on and on about how mean and divided we are as a society. He
was practically weeping--waxing poetic about how fractured we are as a nation and
how divisive things are. The man who spends his life demonizing Progressives and
comparing them to Nazis--is upset that we're divided?

You really have to tune in. Don't be a wimp and say, "I can't stand to listen to his
partisan crap!" No seriously...the guy is a whirling dervish of crazy and it's highly
entertaining. It's no wonder that imbalanced people are taking cues from him--because
he's so obviously cracked beyond repair.

The sad thing is--he's the self-appointed leader of the tea party.

I predict these "health problems" lead to a leave of absence, because the guy seems
to be hanging on by a thread.

I had Beck on yesterday and my ten year old said, "Mommy, what
is wrong with that man?"

She knows very little about politics, but that kinda crazy is
obvious to even a young child.

ending and they're coming for us and please by gold and prepackaged food

it is cheaper!

Seriously. He said that in Greece--"where they have socialized medicine"
they cut off the feet of diabetics instead of fitting them with expensive
shoes--and that is what is coming to our country if Obama gets his way.
