Any media making connection between Chile and Massey mines?
The connection seems obvious to me. Remember, the Massey mine explosion was the worst mining accident in 40 years. Even without the Chile accident, it's been baffling to me why the media hasn't following up on the government response to it, at all. And it's been baffling to me why in this election year the explosion isn't a political issue. Again this was the WORST MINING ACCIDENT IN 40 YEARS. You would think the political process would have something to say about that. You would think, for example, that the Democratic Party would take some kind of stand, as a party.

That was true even before the Chile accident. And now, with all attention on this accident, you would think that the media and the politicians would at least REMIND us about the accident that happened in our own country just a little while ago.

How many Americans know the names of the Chilean miners, who survived? How many Americans know the names of any of the American miners, who died? How many Americans even remember that the Massey Mine accident happened?

I watched quite a bit of CNN and Fox News coverage yesterday. I didn't hear a single reference to Chile.

And check this out: 10 results searching on "massey min chile":
