What percentage of Democrats are LGBT?

This is not a copy-cat thread on Mineral Man's poll, it's an interesting statistical question.

African Americans are 11-13% of the population and about 90% Democratic (or Dem-leaning) so I'd guess that about one in five Dems and Dem leaners are African American.

LGBT are anywhere from 5% to 10% depending on the definitions and probably 80% or 85% Democratic so about one in ten of all Dems and Dem leaners?

Just numbers off the top of my head.

Please correct/clarify my guesses.

While most of my votes still go to Democrats, I renounced my membership in the Democratic party in 2008. I'm sick to death of being taken for granted.

2. Most exit polls put gay voters at 5-6% (self identifying)

so it is more likely higher than that. GLBTs typically vote Democratic in national elections within 70-77%
