Murdoch says it's "not true" that Beck lost hundreds of advertisers, "maybe four or five"
Fielding questions at a News Corp. shareholder meeting this morning, chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch flatly denied that hundreds of advertisers refuse to advertise on Glenn Beck's Fox News program due to a boycott organized after Beck called President Obama a "racist" with a "deep-seated hatred for white people." Asked about reports that nearly 300 advertisers are boycotting Glenn Beck, Murdoch responded: "That's not true ... Maybe four or five who have been moved over to Mr. O'Reilly's program." Murdoch added: "No one has taken any money off the channel."

QUESTIONER: Apparently 300 advertisers are refusing to advertise on Mr. Beck's program--

MURDOCH: That's not true.

QUESTIONER: Well, 297 then, apparently.

MURDOCH: No. No, no. Maybe four or five who have been moved over to Mr. O'Reilly's program. No one has taken any money off the channel.

1. Yeah, ok.
That's why Newscorp has just started demanding a huge hike in fees from cable companies to keep Fox...because everything is just peachy.

2. How would you know what is true.
Maybe all the news channels are lying, maybe they are all telling the truth from their perspective.

Hence why you support concepts not people.

If someone thinks and feels something, and it is distorted and you hear the opposite, you can be made to go after your own agenda.

If you support concepts then if you are told someone is opposite your position, you don't do any damage, since it is the position you are against not the person.

So person says yes, it is distorted to sound like no. If you believe in yes on a topic, then you say so, not against the person, because that can be a deception, but against the ideology of no, and for the ideology of yes.

That is also a concept of cardboard cut outs.

And if you support the concept, then you actually go after the distortions, and not the people that think as you do.

So I am against the concepts Glenn Beck is said to have said, about business being the answer to problems, I am also against the concept that social justice is bad.

So by supporting social justice, and ideas of not having race to the bottom, if Beck agrees with me, then I am not against him, if he does not, then I am against the ideas he would have. So no filter between what he thinks, and what I hear changes who I support and do not support.

I due know that Glenn Beck has been seen to have said some things I posted on clips and tv, and I do know that Glenn and Murdoch have money, and I do know I don't have beer and travel money. So somewhere there is a disconnect in there from personal observation.

3. Apparently Murdoch is just like Beck.
Either a huge liar or delusional. Or both.

5. "No one has taken any money off the channel." = just off glenn beck's show.
in other words, none of our corporate overlords have a problem with murdoch, they just don't want to be directly associated as "sponsor" with someone making racist death threats against the president.

secondary association -- sponsorship of the *network* that pays said racist threat-mongerer -- is a-ok.

6. I doubt that the plan to stop advertisers did much good ...
His program attracts those who sell gold like a carcass attracts vultures.

Plus he helps lead into “The O’Reilly Factor” and “Hannity”. Both CNN and MSNBC are losing in the evening time slots. CNN has major nighttime problems.

To Boost Ratings, CNN Proposes Putting Miners Back One by One

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) -- After watching its ratings sag in the aftermath of its wall-to-wall coverage of the Chilean miners' rescue, CNN today floated the idea of lowering the miners back into the mine in a bid to goose its Nielsen numbers.

"Like our viewers, we were riveted by the drama of the miners emerging from that mine," said recently installed CNN chief Ken Jautz. "We're willing to bet it would be just about as dramatic to see the miners lowered back into the mine one by one."

While CNN has not yet reached out to the miners in order to gauge their interest in a return visit to the mine in which they were trapped for seventy days, "I'll bet the ones with the mistresses and angry wives would be up for it," Mr. Jautz said.

The executive added that if the miners were unwilling to be lowered back into the mine, CNN did have a Plan B: "We'll put Spitzer down there."

9. 300 advertisers are a mere pittance
to Fox propaganda network, next to Saudis investments, and other undisclosed financiers. Their lack of concern over lost advertising should raise another whole set of questions.
