1. For 'Malefactors Of Great Wealth',Sir, That Is True
Indeed, past a certain point the concentration of capital and democracy cannot co-exist, as the latter would certainly act to remove the former condition. All this wretch is saying is that he sides with the people who claim to own wealth the mass of people actually make, but never see...

2. capitalism can't exist without a democracy
Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 07:31 PM by fascisthunter
At least, that's what I think. What ends up happening to capitalism, is it gets corrupted by those fighting against any form of oversight. A democracy allows people to do that, through representation of course. When there is none, well you get the point I hope.

3. I disagree
Two counterexamples:
1) Italy under Mussolini
2) China today
Both have/had thriving capitalist systems, and no democracy.

6. well, there are degrees.... no country has a pure system
Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 08:57 PM by fascisthunter
all are somewhat hybrids... sometimes in history though, we see the extremes and they never work out in the end. I think capitalism precedes fascism, so yes, they are not exclusive.

10. Does it matter what label is attached to funnel all wealth and resource control to a few and use
all the powers and tools of a state to protect the arrangement?

Like a football offense, the terminology and some of the plays vary but the goal is exactly the same.

West coast, power I, shotgun, it doesn't matter much when the goal is to funnel the wealth in to few hands.
