It makes sense now: Dump Public Schools...
After the Right Wing shreds Social Security, Medicare, UI and regulations, they have one more big task: they have to get rid of Public Schools. I thought it was the cost, the taxes, conservative ideology and Xto-Fascist Dominionism. And I'm sure that's a big part.

Then it hit me: The global economy has NO USE or NEED whatsoever for USA employees or their kids. Not now, not in the foreseeable future. The only future generation that they plan to use to make money are the children of India, China, Bangladesh or South America. And they want those kids staying over there, not coming here.

Back in the day, social investment in education, job training, decent wages and working conditions was considered investing in OUR country. Well-educated citizens would make great employees, local entrepreneurs. They'd invent things, build things, then they'd buy things here in the USA. America would be a great place to live, work and raise a family. The global corporations that fund US Chamber and their ilk, have no use paying for something they can't use. Like Sharon Angle said on the stump in NV "I don't plan on having more children, why should I pay for maternity care?" The Charter School movement so beloved by Obama will probablt have a short timeline. After gobblinh the last shred of taxpayer funding, the Ed Moguls will pull up shop and move to Asia.

1. I think you hit it.
Oh we'll still have education for the oligarch's children, for a while at least. But the proles will be trained to obey and be docile.

3. Well? Yeah? First cut pay to get make it unattractive for the the best candidates then get top
heavy management to make sure administration soaks up MOST of the money. Then claim public education is unable to work. Long term goal and a Democrat is cutting the jugular.

History has an arc...and even this country has a limit.

Yes I expect the peasants to rise once there is nothing left to lose.

5. I admit, I too griped about paying for "family coverage"
after my children were gone & i couldn't have children anymore. When my hubby took a new job at a different co. they actually offered a policy for husband & wife only. It was quite a bit cheaper than Family Coverage & that's what he signed up for. I think the greedy ins. co's could all do that, but they just want to make more $$ when they know very well there will never be maternity costs or any children to cover.
