US Chamber of Commerce to air $1.25 million in anti-Barbara Boxer ads next week
Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 09:04 PM by marmar
from the SF Chronicle:

We hear that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- which has emerged as a big-time player in the midterm elections -- is about to drop at least $1.25 million in negative TV ads next week against Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer next week.

Look for the spots to hit in LA, Fresno, Bakersfield, and Sacramento.

"We can neither confirm nor deny this," the Chamber's J.P. Fielder told us. But, he said, "All options are still on the table." Asked whether the very close race -- which Boxer is still slighty leads -- is still in play, Fielder said: "Absolutely."

That's bad news for Boxer, who has already absorbed $3.2 million in Chamber TV ad pummeling. You can check out the chamber's first -- and possibly future -- ad here. The C.O.C. has endorsed Republican Carly Fiorina as the "pro-business" candidate in the race.

Fiorina has only been hit with $122,357.88 in outside independent expenditure money, according to what the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation can track down. Check out their new online tool -- Follow the Unlimited Money Tracker -- that allows users to, as Deep Throat/Hal Holbrook said, "Follow the money." ........(more)

11. It is, but at least they've finally come out from behind the bushes after all these decades.
After this election cycle, the depraved organization will no longer have their clover leaf to hide behind.

This will be a bad thing for them.

2. Bakersfield and Fresno are red cities.
They only have wing nut radio and wing nut newspapers. Seems like a waste of money.

13. No lie

The valley won't vote for Boxer, and LA won't vote for Carly anyway so it's a big waste of money.

6. At this point in the race
Will it really make a difference? Are there that many fence sitters that will be convinced by more TV ads?

8. call your local chamber and give em heck....and your city council telling it NOT to
associate with the chamber in any way because the chamber is a right wing extremist partisan group. The city I live in is constantly sucking up the to the local CofC and providing it with services and partnership.
