1. Ditto! It pissed me off to even see his name on the ballot!
What are you thinking about the booze initiative? I THINK I have the other ones pretty much figured out, but not sure about this one.

2. I have a family friend who operates a state-run store
If this initiative passes, she is out of a job. I don't think you need mini-marts selling hard alcohol. I don't have any problem with Washington State regulating alcohol sales.

3. I've never had a problem with it either. Actually, it always feels
kind of 'safe' to go into a liquor store since it's Official and all. :7 Tell your friend I'll be voting for her to keep her job. :hi:

5. I got my ballot yesterday..
I was undecided for a time on 1100 and 1105. There's a lot of confusion surrounding both of them, but all you have to do is look and see who is supporting these two initiatives. I know that settled my vote...and I'm going with NO.

11. I just got my pamphlet today - what a tome! I found myself skipping the
"explanations" and zeroing in on who wrote the arguments. I agree with you!

I'm 57 and it seems as though this has come up for a vote so many times that I can remember, so just wanted to check with the DU folks to see what y'all had to say. I trust you guys more than I trust anyone looking for my vote. :headbang:

:hi:

9. This is his third run at state office
Too many rich and powerful people make Dino rich himself. He owes them pay-back, they want their boy in office.

6. Do you know if the state makes money on the
liquor stores?

TIA!

7. 200 million went to state and local budgets in 2002
remove 200 million from state coffers and see how well the state does.

10. Thanks!
I don't understand why this is even on the ballot, especially with all the problems balancing the budget.

12. So I received my ballot and voted Murray :)
Adam Smith is meh, but far better than any Republican and well worth voting for to impede Boner's delusions of being Speaker :puke:

I particularly liked the damn confusing ballot language on I-1082. I had to use http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Washington_Workers'_Comp_Insurance_Reform,_Initiative_1082_(2010)">ballotpedia to demystify it (and the liquor initiatives too, for that matter). However, knowing the BIAW is behind 1082 was all that I needed to know... :hi:

The only races left on my ballot are the judicial races. Ugh. I feel like I have to go read judges' case decisions to even remotely feel like I know what I'm voting for (or against). That judicial races are nonpartisan makes this problem worse. I *HATE* voting judicial races...

At least vote by mail means I can actually do such research with the ballot in front of me. :)

Anyone have a good, preferably somewhat neutral, source of info for the judicial races? There was a viable link in the WA state forum for a progressive cheat sheet, but it wanted my real name in addition to the zip code, which I'm not willing to give. ZIP code for search is fine, name is not.
