Where did the meme that Condi Rice is a "Reasonable Republican" come from?
If it was AP, I can understand the error - they really are too ignorant to understand the difference between a "Reasonable Republican" and a War Criminal.

But if it was someone here or in the left blogosphere, I'd like to know the rationale?

I don't think I would ever anticipated anybody here on the left calling her a "reasonable Republican"? O.k. well, I guess she's not a "teabagger"- I'll give her THAT. However, she was a willing and eager (though incompetent) accomplice to all of the criminality associated with Bushco's foreign policy during the previous (mis-)administration, which is bad enough for me. :puke:

3. Right
I might be willing to call her a reasonable republican (actually, here, I'm lying) if she was behind bars at the Hague. Barring that, she will always remain, to me, one of the unprosecuted War Criminals that shame our country on a daily basis by continuing to evade justice.

I just started seeing this meme in about three areas of DU at once and I wondered where it originated?

particularly impressive. Rove is wiley, but not intelligent nor well educated.

11. Reasonableness is a crucial characteristic for any war criminal
looking to move forward.

The fact that the standard for "reasonableness" has been hopelessly crippled by the hell she helped unleashed should not be, at any point in human history, allowed to work in her favor.

18. I love how the Democrats have made the the Bush Admin the new "center" through all their apologizing
for them. Now the Tea Party are the "bad guys" and monsters like Rice--from an administration that this website was founded to fight--are suddenly not so bad.

Fucking moving disaster, that's what all this is.

23. Because we are a nation, not of laws, but of policy.
I had a chance to think about this over vacation.

In brief this is why the Bush/Cheney people will never go to jail because they broke the law. They followed policy which is more important to the functioning of government than "laws" will ever be. The policy makers and policy followers are above the laws the rest of us have to abide by. They are a special class and cannot be touched. Because unlike the law policy is fungible while the law is not.

In many ways the Bush policies must continue. That is just the way things are.

I am not happy with that but ......policy trumps law and morality.

24. Unscrupulous Democrats who sympathize with what she did.
Don't forget that the Bush Administration didn't go to war alone. It had plenty of support for Democrats. Not every Democrat was out in the streets and not every Democrat was outraged.
