Meghan McCain Calls O'Donnell 'Nut Job'
Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 10:55 AM by DainBramaged
Source: FOX news

Meghan McCain called Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell a "nut job," saying Sunday that the Republican nominee has made a "mockery" of political campaigns.

The daughter of 2008 Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain is known for going against the party grain in her public appearances. She openly criticizes the Tea Party movement in her new book.

Asked about the closely watched Delaware race, McCain said Sunday that O'Donnell's lack of experience sends a troubling signal about the direction of politics.

"My problem is that no matter what, Christine O'Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office," McCain said on ABC's "This Week." "She has no real history, no real success in any kind of business and what that says to my generation is one day you can just wake up and run for Senate no matter how (little) experience you have.

"And it scares me for a lot of reasons. And I just know in my group of friends, it just turns people off, because she's seen as a nut job," McCain said.

9. Low blow
Oh come on she's not that overweight, the idea that you have to conform to lookism standards as a #1 priority gave us Palin and O'Donnell. Face it if they were physically ugly they would not have ever been nominated for their respective campaigns and to Meghan's credit, she is not running for office, just stating her opinion.

27. I think she's quite attractive, actually.
She certainly looks a lot more attractive than the nearly anorexic celebs in the media.

but if we treat them as if they are, we lose BIG.

8. Really. On both points.
Meghan McC might be mainly an attention hound, drafting in dad's wake, but I appreciate her calling a spade a spade.

I never had a problem talking ideas with Republicans twenty years ago. It used to be a conversation between two philosophies. I have the feeling that MM is a throwback to those times. Unlike her pandering father, who these days looks to see which way the wind blows before articulating his 'principles'.

36. I know what you mean
I remember having long conversations with Republicans in the late 80's and most of the 90's. We disagreed on most everything, but it felt more like a different value system at that point.

Now it just feels like dealing with some serious nut jobs incapable of even having an intelligent conversation.

From people saying she was the same as O'Donnell....qualifications for running for Senate and commenting on people running for Senate are different is all I meant.

13. Anyone who can support the corrupt RepubliCorporate agenda at this stage
-- whether they fit the so-called 'rational' criteria or not -- has devolved to the nutjob class and is running their 'logic' on a fuel of fear, greed, or hate.

18. She also said Obama administration policies created the teabaggers
Meanwhile, the teabaggers started their opposition before the Obama administration had a chance to implement anything. Frankly, I'm not impressed with Ms. McCain.

21. I caught that part too - she said Biden should have taken responsibility
for the spending policies that created the whole teabagger movement!

She's got some nerve talking so big on GLBT rights issues, when her own father is almost single-handedly preventing the repeal of DADT...

25. This is just a spat between the old establishment Republicons
and the tea partiers. The former group is scared to death that the latter group is going to take over their party, and they are quite rational in that fear.

O'Donnell will wear this like a badge of honor. Even after she loses.

I find her thinking convoluted and screwed up beyond all belief. When someone asks her a question, she either can't answer or she changes the topic. Plus she confuses everything. It's weird listening to her. I wish the next time she gives an oblique answer, the questioner would say: Please ANSWER The Question

to the 2008 campaign. IIR, she referred to her as a "time bomb."
