What sort of opinion do people have on Jerry Brown regarding women's issues?

What sort of opinion do people have on Jerry Brown regarding women's issues?
I'm not too sure how organized groups and others feel about him when it comes to his stance on women's issues and his background. Just curious. Thanks

3. Understand that...but does he....
have a good strong record? Do most feel strongly toward his behavior on the many issues? Or is it seen as he's just the Democrat?

(The reason I ask is over his tepid response to Whitman in their debate - I can't understand why he didn't fire back his support on women's issues is strong and everyone knows it).
