L.A. Sheriff: Pot Legalization ‘Not Going To Pass, Even If It Passes’
"going to do"

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca said on Friday that the voters don’t matter. His deputies’ enforcement of marijuana laws would not change even if voters approved Proposition 19, which would legalize cannabis in California, on November 2, according to the Sheriff.

“Proposition 19 is not going to pass, even if it passes,” Baca said in a news conference Friday at sheriff’s headquarters in Monterey Park, reports Robert Faturechi in The Los Angeles Times."

1. I suggest he look into the benefits
of early retirement, because he'll likely need them in the near future.

3. Do these guys think they're convincing people to vote against it, with this crap?
I think they need to do a little more research into human nature.

prison revenue. Lots of crime is a big business in the US, anymore. Lots of people/institutions make money off of it... reduce crime and some are going to see loss benefits, income and power... Hence, we gotta fight this pot thing so we can punish the innocent and make money.

5. He can not charge people with following the law...
Can he charge people with the federal stature instead of the state law? I believe that is yes. If so...

9. No he may not charge them under federal statutes.
He'd have nothing to go on at all.

8. Well, you're wrong about that...
Holder is far from being a liberal.

But you did aptly describe him as an ass clown. ;)

13. Typical of this gang.
The LAPD and their cousins, the Latin Kings have never respected the rights of the civilian populace.

14. So the people they arrest can go to court. The sheriff will lose.
Nice try.

15. What is he going to do?
Arrest them and charge them under a no-longer existing law?

Fine them? Force them all into court to fight the non-existent charges?

Maybe he's just going to arrest them and turn them over to the feds.

Or just stomp his foot and hold his breath until his face turns blue?
