Baseball and Politics...

I listen to a great podcast called "fourcast".

They talk about various trends and future predictions and events.

This past episode, they brought up a topic regarding something that never occurred to me, that is: the world series will occur on election day.

Anyone who follows sports of any kind knows the stats involving half time bathroom use during the Super bowl.

Meaning, as the speakers on the show postulate, what will be the effect upon voter turn out on election day while people are engrossed in the world series?

If you are a sports enthusiast or not, this is a concept that needs to be pondered.

I'm very curious as to what, if any effect this will have on the elections.

1. With early voting available in a lot of states I don't think it will come into play...

2. The game probably won't start until polls are closed in most states

or in the last couple hours.
I don't think baseball is all that popular anymore anyhow. Mostly with the local fans.
