"Christine O’Donnell was not questioning the concept of separation of church and state as subsequently established by the courts. She simply made the point that the phrase appears nowhere in the Constitution. It was in fact Chris Coons who demonstrated his Constitutional ignorance when he could not name the five freedoms contained in the First Amendment"

2. Yo, Christine - it doesn't use the EXACT phrase "Fucking morons can say stupid shit" either...
...but it protects your right to do it anyway.

4. I think Rachel Maddow had a good take on this last night.
These people live in their own little world with its own facts. Last I saw, 40% of Deleware voters are still going with O'Donnell! If she'd said the moon was made out of green cheese that was eaten by a Great Horned Owl each month and replaced from the Milky Way, some people would insist she's right!

8. In words from The Simpsons...
Milhouse: Gross!
Martin: Yet strangely compelling.

10. I wrote to her 'campaign,'
Edited on Wed Oct-20-10 12:18 PM by elleng
said they'd misstated the discussion, that he was not asked to list the 'five freedoms,' and that Mr. Coons was about to recite the entire First Amendment.

I have little tolerance for liars.

11. But 1 in 10 Americans can't name the 5 freedoms in the first amendment either
and I bet neither could O'Donnell before she was couched. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom to assemble, freedom to petition the government, are the 5 and the only reason I know all 5 is because I read what the 5 freedoms were after seeing the video of the debate. What the people like O'Donnell don't understand is the amendment uses the word "establish", By using that word the amendment don't need the words separation of state and religion because you must first establish a religion then list what separations you want for the state duties and those for religious duties. Look up the word establish and it becomes clear.

By not establishing a religion what the framers did was avoid having to establish what duties were the states and what duties were the religions, like how Congress has set duties, Senate has set duties and the SCOTUS has set duties. Also by not establishing a religion it allowed for freedom to practice any religion as the people chose to follow or not, you can not establish religion then turn around and say but we have freedom of religion at that point in history, though things have changed that today even with countries with an established religion allows other religious beliefs, only the state established religion is recognized and has privileges not shared with other religions.

12. why should dems remember teabaggie talking points?
It's like their outrage over the failure of the media to cover the New Black Pather movement. To them it's the biggest story of the century. To the media it's two guys with no complaints against them.

But it's the media that's incompetent, uhuh.
