The ACLU is sending its new T-Shirt to...GLENN BECK, lol!

The ACLU's e-mail message made me chuckle. I post it NOT as an appeal for donations, but simply because I found it amusing:




Dear ACLU Supporter,

Become a Guardian of Liberty, and receive your limited-edition ACLU T-Shirt designed by acclaimed artist Shepard Fairey.

We hope he hasn't ordered one already—because soon we'll be packing up a limited-edition ACLU t-shirt for Glenn Beck. By a 2-to-1 margin, ACLU supporters voted that he needs the ACLU even more than Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich.

We'll also be sending Glenn Beck something else that's useful: a copy of the Constitution. In it, he'll find that the Bill of Rights guarantees basic fundamental freedoms to everyone in America.

This is a critical moment, and our work to defend the Constitution will determine what freedom looks like in America for years to come. Extremists all across the country are actively trying to limit our liberties. But the ACLU will continue to fight for free speech, privacy, religious tolerance and reproductive freedom — for everyone, including Glenn Beck.

There will always be extremists like Mr. Beck who think that the rights in this country only apply to a select few. Fortunately, with your support, there will always be an ACLU to make sure that they don't win the day.
