Arrrgh! Severe Hardball Stupid Attack!
On Matthews just now, neither Tweety or Howard Fineman or whoever the woman on the show is can figure out why Ginny Thomas would phone Anita Hill for an apology last week.
Equally baffling...why would Anita Hill tell the Brandeis authorities and the FBI?
They spoke of the Terrible Pain that poor Justice Thomas and his wife suffered when Anita gave her testimony. They agreed that Ms. Hill might also feel some pain.
They blahhed and blahhed and even managed to mention Ginny's prominence as a right wing political activist. But they're incapable of connecting any dots.
Nobody bothered to note the very recent kerfuffle over the fact that thanks to the Supreme Court's decision that corporations are people and they can give as much money to political causes as they like....the wife of a Justice Thomas benefits personally, financially, professionally from her husband's vote.
Nobody even raised the possibility that the telephone trip back down memory lane might be an attempt to elicit sympathy for the Thomases.
I'm ranting, I know. ...but these people can't even report current events with any relevance.

1. They don't want to "connect the dots" - the picture is way too ugly. nt

2. Anita Hill did absolutely right to call in the authorities
Edited on Wed Oct-20-10 05:41 PM by rocktivity
Either she concluded that the call was some kind of zany-college-kid prank, or feared that it was some kind of threat. I'm sure it NEVER occurred to her that the call was real -- after all, why WOULD Thomas' wife do such a thing after all these years? She'd have to be some kind of nut!

4. She did the right thing...Good for her. I think Mrs Thomas had been nipping at the bottle a bit .
It is called "drunk dialing". She heard that Ms Hill's allegations were about to be confirmed by another woman who is writing a book..so she flipped out. I think she intentionally wanted to embarrass her husband...

3. I think I heard she reported to the university and
they turned it over to the Feds.

5. Why do we even bother listening to
Tweety and Company, Chuck Toad and most times Andrea Mitchell? Howard Fineman never has an original thought in his head. He always counts the votes before spilling his malarky.

6. Blaming the victim and then trying to make the victim apologize.
Simply amazing....This should be a huge story.

7. The call was made at 7:30 am on a Saturday
To her office phone. Clearly she didn't want to actually speak to Ms. Hill. Coward. Anita Hill did the right thing, both in 1991 and with this lunatic's message. How dare she suggest that Anita Hill "pray on it"? How f**king dare she?
