"Tea Parties—Racism, Anti-Semitism and the Militia Impulse" from the NAACP
“Representing whites without being able to be portrayed as racist boot wearing Nazis is the best appproach." Right wing political strategists

Best if you are trying to appeal to average American voters, most of whom were brought up to believe in the core American value of justice for all. If you are a white supremist organization in the U.S. trying to promote your God fearing, Constitution bashing, anti-Semitic, white power candidates, you will do anything---even claim Martin Luther King Jr. as your inspiration---if it will remove the taint of racism.

First, read the article by D. Burghart and L. Zeskind, called Tea Parties—Racism, Anti-Semitism and the Militia Impulse which is discussed in today's NYT.

The NAACP has bent over backwards to keep this essay as non inflammatory as possible. We all know why. The Right Wing loves to portray the NAACP as some kind of violent fringe group intent upon overthrowing democracy and instituting the rule of Blacks over Whites. When the NAACP politely points out racism in our society, Rush and company are quick to scream Reverse discrimination!

Since I am not a national organization under attack for being “too radical”, I do not have to keep things pretty. Read some of the words of the ultra-right wing political types whom the Tea Parties have embraced. These guys do not "have a dream" in store for America. They are working on a nightmare.

Martin “Red” Beckman wrote:

They talk about the terrible holocaust of Hitler's Nazi Germany. Was that not a judgment upon people who believe Satan is their god. The Church Deceived

Commentary by Dale Robertson, Tea Partier: “He’s been actually leading this fight long before I probably was even born….I’ve read his books, and they are a must read. Once you read them you’ll realize that we’ve definitely been deceived by our government and we need to do everything in our powers to take our nation back.”

Logical conclusion: The Tea Party thinks that European Jewish people had it coming.

It gets worse. Paul Topete from Poker Face is quoted as saying:

Remember, all -isms of the last 500 years came from and grew out of the Sabbatean-Jewish mindset. Bolshevism, Communism, Socialism, Feminism, Jacobism, Neo-Conism etc… It is these satanic Jews, and the Rosicrucian Goyim henchmen that need to be erased from our planet. They are the cancer that is destroying humanity.

http://revolusion2008.blogspot.com/2008/01/ronpaulpaulooza-band-poker-face-exposes.html

His group was invited to perform at a 2009 Tea Party rally.

Logical conclusion: Tea Parties consider talk of exterminating Jewish people normal political discourse. (Makes you wonder what they consider extremism? School lunches?)

In 2000, Pastor John Weaver set off a shit storm when he said:

"I am going to show you not only biblically, but historically how especially many of those African slaves blessed the Lord for allowing them to be enslaved and sent to America. Because what they had over here was far better than what they had over there."

http://180dts.bravepages.com/2000/October_WalMart.html

Robertson endorses Weaver: “John Weaver is a very knowledgeable Christian leader who presents scriptural basis for Constitutional Rights.”

Logical conclusion: Tea Partiers think that slavery in America was a good thing---and that God approved.

The Tea Parties like to claim that they are a popular movement, driven by concerned citizens and not Koch Oil Family money. So, here are Tea Party protestors demonstrating their core values (video included):

Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol, angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted "nigger" Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.
Protesters also shouted obscenities at other members of the Congressional Black Caucus, spat on at least one black lawmaker and confronted an openly gay congressman with taunts.

That’s right. Civil Rights icon John Lewis, who was beaten and tear gassed by state troopers in Alabama on the Edmond Pettis bridge, who later forgave his attackers, who is now an elected Representative----that John Lewis was the target of Tea Party wrath.

Logical conclusion: Tea Parties hate Black folks.

Don’t believe me? Look at the some of the signs they proudly wave.

Oh, and Dale Robertson, the good ol’ boy who just loves slavery and genocide? Here is his message of choice:

If there are any Tea Baggers who still want to claim that theirs is not a racist organization, check out these poll results:

Of those who strongly disapproved of the Tea Party, 55% agreed with the statement that black people were “VERY hard working.” Of those who strongly approved of the Tea Party, only 18% agreed with the statement that black people were “VERY hard working.”

We all know what the opposite of a very hard working American is. But in case you need it spelled out for you, here is Tea Party spokesman Mark Williams putting words into the mouths of the nation’s African-Americans:

We Colored People have taken a vote and decided that we don’t cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop

2. These people need to crawl back under their rocks and go back into hiding.
It makes me so angry - I can't even find the words to describe my anger and disgust.

May the all burn in Hell - ugh - that even makes me angrier to have these feelings!

I don't understand them. I just don't. I don't know where this kind of hatred and comes from in people. What is wrong with people?

4. Is there a link to the actual NAACP report?
Sorry if I missed it!

lol Ain't that the truth. Some of the people I've known or seen with the absolute most detestable views on race are always the first ones running around quoting Malcolm, Martin, Coretta or any number of black leaders. It's almost rather humorous.

His book Blood and Politics should be required reading.

8. Not surprising at all. From the get-go they've shown their racial animus.

The pitiful thing about these TP'ers is their howls of "not being racist" all the while doing their damnedest to show disgust for the POTUS as well as people of color. They've lied so much about their racism that they'll pull the sheet back on even though the NAACP's report deftly pulls it off and exposes the "grassroots movement" as they are.

I am very glad the report is out there. There needs to be as much evidence as possible gathered so that the Teabaggers can't hide their hatred in plain sight. They've already proven that they are a national disgrace with their ineptness and lack of intellectual prowess. The report will further add to the infamy of the group that has little separation from domestic terrorism.

it's hilarious how they deny it vigorously while holding their misspelled signs.
