DADT repeal - why it should have been so bloody simple
Okay, class, this is the first and last time I'm doing this.

This is what the Republicans say our military will turn into if DADT is repealed:

And this is what I'm convinced our military will look like after the repeal of DADT:

Could I make it any clearer? Anyone who listens to the Republicans instead of the rest of the nation re: DADT is either badly misled or a complete moron.

2. Thanks
Managing to drive off Lt. Dan Choi is a really, really bad move on this administration's part.

5. How are they trying to drive off Lt. Dan Choi?
Do someone say something?

6. I don't think they meant to...
...but their stand on DADT just cost Obama support from Choi and other gays in the military unless Obama is able to turn the situation around.

3. Don't know, but is it possible to be just a tad less condescending?

4. I don't understand
I thought my derision was aimed at those supporting DADT, not the GLBT community or the military as a whole.

7. I don't know what that "condescending" remark was about
I would say Obama has successfully scuttled another yet great opportunity to obtain the change he campained on.

Watching the pattern, from letting health care reform turn into a republican wet dream, to attempting zero prosecutions relating to "derivatives", to his Attorney General threatening to prosecute Californians if they legalize marijuana, to avoiding a perfectly legal perfectly acceptable end to DADT (the Military was even following the injunction without a wimper), there seems to be no defeat that Obama cannot wrestle from the arms of success.

8. I foresee damage control starting in January...
...through which the Obama administration seeks to mend fences with the GLBT community and reenergize them for the 2012 elections and beyond. I see a lot of gay and lesbian Dems, some of them newly-minted Dems, who have been turned off lately by the administration's actions.
