Vets stand guard over Christian flag in NC town
The Christian flag is everywhere in the small North Carolina city of King, except the place where supporters want it most: flying above a war memorial in a public park.

3. WTF
is a "Christian Flag," and why would anyone have approved of it being placed there in the first place? Just more absolute nonsense from the religious wrong. Idiots.

11. This is a Christian flag

No one SHOULD have authorized it being there, but the Matthew 25.41 Christians demand seeing symbols of their faith everywhere that they go.

7. Jesus never flew any flags
In fact, flags to him were probably symbolic of the Imperialist Roman conquerors. It's what warlike people did.

10. Wow. The people buried there died protecting freedoms
Freedoms, such as choosing which religion to follow...or not follow. I'll wager there are others buried there besides "born-again Christians."

15. No one is taking their right to fly the flag
Edited on Thu Oct-21-10 06:38 PM by DearAbby
they just cant have the county or township sponsoring it, supporting it, via public funds and property. They are free to erect a pole and fly the flag.

For some perverse reason they want government sponsor/recognize their particular religion.

16. What would happen if every organization had fits because
their choice of flag was flying over every statute or building in their city. I just think these people who CLAIM to be so Christian are just a bunch of hate filled religious radicals.

19. I'm sorry, I didn't serve 22 years in the USAF under some freaking Christian flag
I served under the USAF Flag and the Flag of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

These fuckers are pretty much traitors to the Constitution in my book.
