Murdoch owned Cape Cod Times endorses Democrat in MA 10th Congressional
Jeffey Perry, the republican running for retiring Bill Delahunt's 10th District seat, has a very disturbing history of lying and coverups.

2. Baker is taking heat for coming down today to rally with him
Perry is toxic, but they don't realize it --- yet.

3. Strange. My parents live on Cape Cod where the CC Times is considered a "liberal" newspaper.

6. That's changing. They've defintely shifted to the right.
It shows up more and more every day. They're also taking on a Boston Herald style of reporting.

Not good.......

10. Thanks. I believe you. I'll give them a heads-up (in their late 80s and vulnerable).
He was surprised recently by what he called a "hit piece" he'd read.

4. Keating will win, don't worry.
His will be the last Congressional race in Massachusetts to be called, but he'll win.

7. If Perry loses, you'll hear me singing from the rooftops.
He has a hard-core base here, and they are absolutely rabid.

5. Murdoch won't back a Republican who has no hope of winning
It's the same thing with his New York Post refusing to endorse Paladino, which everyone is treating as a seismic shock. A Guardian journalist of my acquaintance tells me that he was badly burned by the 2008 election, because he wanted to back Obama and his son talked him out of it. His reputation as a kingmaker took a severe hit, which is why he was shitting bricks when it looked as though his anointed candidate, David Cameron, might not win the British general election earlier this year. Backing two losers in a row like that would have destroyed forever the myth of Rupert the All-Powerful who must be appeased at all costs. If anything, expect him to become even more cautious.

At Cape rally, Baker speaks quickly; Perry doesn't
By Alan Wirzbicki, Andrea Estes, and Travis Andersen, Globe Staff

DENNIS -- The Republican supporters who gathered for a rally this afternoon on the bucolic town green here were treated to a perfect autumn afternoon, food off the grill, and classic rock blasting from the loudspeakers.

What they didn't get was Congressional candidate Jeffrey D Perry. And they got only the smallest taste of GOP gubernatorial nominee Charles D. Baker.

...

The candidates appeared late, as the bells at a neighboring church tolled three. After initially gathering in a bandstand, they moved to a plainer podium, a wooden block that was further from the roughly 10 protestors who chanted "Shame on you" as Baker raced through his speech. Protesters held signs saying "Apologize Jeff" and "Got Coverup?"

"We've got 10 days, 10 days to turn this thing around," said Baker, who didn't mention Perry by name in his remarks.

"Have you had enough?" Baker asked the crowd. "I'm looking forward to taking back this great state of Massachusetts and giving you the government you deserve."

As they mingled with supporters, the two men seemed to keep their interactions to a minimum. Baker's speech began at 3:20 and concluded at 3:21. By 3:22, Perry was on his way out of the rally, climbing into a car parked by the cemetery bordering the green.

I wish I had gone down to Dennis, just to see the "rally" collapse.

Gubernatorial candidates shake hands, dodge protests

...

You have to read the article to see the only one dodging protests was Charlie Baker, and those busy shaking hands were Patrick and Cahill.

Baker will lose, but the Globe is too chicken to report decently this race (or is there a problem with people writing titles?)
